The Spanish Philatelic Society, Inc. (“SPS”) was founded many years ago, and has been determined by the IRS to be a qualified 501(c)(3) organization to which donations, if made, are deductible by the donor so long as the SPS remains qualified. The SPS usually puts a journal (the “ARANA”) online, as well as holding 1-2 auctions online. To participate in the auctions, both the seller and the buyer must be SPS members in good standing.
Articles of interest concerning Spanish Philately are included in the Arana. The SPS has a very nice library located in California. The library materials may be borrowed but only by a member in good standing, and the costs of shipping to and from are borne by the borrowing member. We have very good research material. Additionally, we have many knowledgeable members in Spanish philately who can help identify hard to find items or would just welcome discussion of any kind. Many of our members collect Spanish Civil War material- some Republican, some Nationalist, and some both. Many collect general Spain (classics, etc).
